We’re opening our new home to the greater Portland community, making our facilities in the historic 511 Building available on a rental basis to groups and individuals seeking a venue which inspires and an atmosphere which evokes creativity and innovation.

Whether a performance, conference, meeting or celebration, PNCA’s new home on the North Park Blocks offers a magnificent, unique, and well-appointed setting for your important event.

The Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design

Opened in 1919, the historic Federal Building at 511 NW Broadway is at Portland’s geographic center and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.  It sits at the terminus of the North Park Blocks, a green beltway and creative corridor.

Originally serving as the city’s central Post Office, this stately building has been re-imagined as the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design, a new hub for creativity and entrepreneurship. The 15-million dollar renovation, designed in conjunction with acclaimed architect Brad Cloepfil, has preserved key historical features while creating a new vision of elegant functionality, including beautiful spaces for art exhibitions, lectures, and events in addition to classrooms, production facilities, and a stunning library and object studies collection space.
