Required application materials consist of your portfolio and transcripts.
You must upload your Required Materials online at the website PNCA.Slideroom.com. You’ll need to create an account to begin to upload your required materials.
Once you begin to upload your materials make sure to save your progress, and take as long as you need to complete your application before submitting.

All applicants must provide a portfolio of 10 to 15 examples of their original creative work.

Each work will be evaluated on artistic and conceptual content, design and composition, originality, technical skill and creative potential.
Examples of mediums:
If possible we recommend that your portfolio should include several examples of observational drawings, even if you plan on majoring in Photography or Communication Design. *Interactive media projects such as websites should be submitted as a screenshot image, and include the URL to the site so it can be reviewed online.

Essay Topic: Personal Artist Statement
View this essay as an opportunity for you to distinguish yourself from other applicants and to share aspects of your creative and academic passion that are not reflected in your portfolio or application.
Your essay should be between 2000 and 3000 characters (about 400 to 600 words). The online form will cut off the essay at 3000 characters, so check to make sure that the entire essay is included before submitting.

If you are considering Writing as a major, you will need to submit two writing samples in PDF format in addition to your visual arts portfolio. Samples may be in any type of writing genre (fiction, non-fiction narrative, plays, scripts, poems, etc.), and can be an excerpt from a longer work. Samples should be no longer than 5 pages, double-spaced, single-sided, with a 10 pt font and 1.25” margins. Please include your full legal name at the beginning of the sample.
