Raised in Texas by vegetarians who do yoga and make art and music. Went to the West Coast for college in California and then graduate school in Oregon, focusing on mathematics.

Studies knots, category theory, quantum algebra. Teaches all sorts of math, and works as an editor for academic journals. Is a radical organizer and activist involved in housing and tenant rights. Loves to cook, fly kites, make stuff out of cardboard and x-actos, climb trees, tumble, and read, read, read.

Lives with two kids, two dogs, and two cats.
