A Benefit Exhibition for Sisters of the Road
Students in Mary Preis’ Art and Design in Contemporary Society class are organizing a benefit exhibition for Sisters of the Road, a non-profit organization supporting community driven solutions to the calamities of homelessness and poverty. The exhibition will be part of First Thursday events on May 6th, 2010 on the loading docks of PNCA on NW 13th between NW Johnson and Kearney, from 5 to 8pm.
Students invited the entire PNCA community to utilize a provided 8” x 8” panel of wood to create a piece of art for the show. The benefit will sell each panel for $30.00. The event will also feature cupcakes by Bliss, brownies from Best Little Road House and performances by Portland’s very own Lee Corey Oswald.
“We wanted to engage PNCA’s great talent in a way that would directly support our local community,” said student Carolyn Reagan.
