Transference Opens at MoCC

Museum of Contemporary Craft (MoCC) in partnership with Pacific Northwest College of Art presents _Transference_, an exploration of the material and aural properties of glass by artists Andy Paiko (glass) and Ethan Rose (sound/composition), November 19, 2009–January 9, 2010 at the Museum.

Through a dynamic collaboration, Paiko and Rose created a kinetic sound installation that reinterprets the glass armonica, a nearly forgotten instrument that was popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The armonica features a series of glass goblets, water and friction to create sounds evoking a “singing” wine glass.
