The Manuel Izquierdo Gallery at the Pacific Northwest College of Art presents “The righteous foundation of us.” This exhibition by Portland artist Josh Smith features his
fascination with the hive and colony structures characteristic of early Modernism. Utilizing repetition of cylinders and inexpensive materials, Smith’s sculptures are simultaneously industrial and organic forms.
“The righteous foundation of us” will be on exhibit from February 5–26, 2009 at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, Manuel Izquierdo Sculpture Gallery, 825 NW 13th Avenue, Portland, Oregon. Gallery hours are 9-5pm, Monday-Saturday and by appointment.
A graduate of the Oregon College of Art and Craft, Smith has exhibited work in several galleries including Hoffman Gallery, Museum of Contemporary Craft, and Gallery Homeland. This is his first solo exhibition.
All events are free and open to the public.
