Continuing Education’s Adult Program offers a full range of courses including Animation + Video, Computer Arts, Drawing, Enrichment + Peer Learning (Ages 50+), Glass Arts, Graphic Design, Graphic Novel, Illustration, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Web Design, and Writing.

The Adult Program is, primarily, an evening program held during the week. The average class size is 12-15 students, fostering a feeling of camaraderie and shared purpose. Students enroll in courses for non-credit, credit or certificate status depending upon their needs and goals. Students who are interested in furthering their professional careers may choose to take classes for certificate or credit status.

CERTIFICATE

PNCA offers an open enrollment Certificate Program in the following fields of study: Fine Art, Graphic Design and Moving Image Arts. The certificate path of study is ideal for individuals seeking professional development in the creative service industries and for those developing a committed studio practice.

BFA CREDIT

Credit courses through Continuing Education are generally offered for 1-2 credits. If students take these courses to earn academic credit hours, they may apply the credits towards a BFA degree at PNCA, or the credits may be transferred to another college. The availability of credit courses is particularly suitable for non-traditional students who may find commitments to full-time enrollment difficult. Students wishing to complete BFA credit courses through Continuing Education can begin without the formal admissions process necessary for the BFA program.

Students interested in either certificate requirements or credit options through Continuing Education classes are encouraged to make an appointment with Academic Advising, 503.821.8974.

Pacific Northwest College of Art is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, and the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
