PNCA offers Studio Certificates in Communications Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, and Drawing + Painting. Our Certificate Program serves adult learners seeking a flexible learning schedule to develop their creative skills—as well as a professional portfolio—without compromise to their personal goals and responsibilities. Almost all of our Certificate Candidates hold a 4-year degree or higher, typically in a field other than art and design.
Designed with working adults in mind, all program requirements can be completed on a part-time schedule of courses and activities in PNCA’s Continuing Education program, which are predominately held during early morning and evening times as well as on weekends. Certificate candidates are expected to fulfill the required 15 units of study and studio work within two years. Program requirements are presented as course clusters to allow for a personalization of study from the start and to align with the varied experiences and goals of each Certificate Candidate.
Application for program admission is online and free. There are no upfront payments and tuition and fees only come due at the time of a specific course or workshop registration. The total cost of a Certificate Program runs between $6,800 and $8,000 depending on the selection of courses. PNCA strongly recommends that all certificate candidates hold a four-year degree or higher. A high school diploma is required for admission to the certificate program. A certificate is not a substitute for a four-year degree, post-baccalaureate, or graduate degree.
Lauren Vrouvas, Certificate in Graphic Design ’14:
I just accepted a job offer as the Graphic & Web Designer for a digital agency. I would not have been able to move in this career direction without all that I learned at PNCA, so I thank you for that.
