Continuing Education has created two distinct programs for teens. Creativity Labs are specially designed to push the boundaries of artistic exploration and use many new mediums and techniques. The Young Artist Workshops meet the demand for classical art learning with a focus on drawing and painting.

Creativity Labs

Creativity Labs are designed for teen students interested in creative experimentation while learning about art, design, and craft in ways that are meaningful, fun, and educational. Whether using digital or traditional media enthusiastic instructors utilize best practice techniques to bring student’s imagination to life. Each course introduces students to new ways of art making through unique curriculum and engaging instruction.

Creativity Labs : Comics

Types of subject matter introduced as part of the Creativity Labs curriculum includes:

-Basic Web design
-Craft Techniques
-Digital Tools (Photoshop and Illustrator)
-Interdisciplinary Sculpture
-Social Practice

Young Artist Workshops

Young Artist Workshops are designed for teen students who would like to develop their technique and understanding of painting and drawing. Students who participate in these classically focused workshops will learn fine art processes and how to apply them to traditional subject matter. These classes are a precursor to our more portfolio focused and collegiate Pre-College classes.

Painting + Portraits

Types of subject matter introduced as part of the Young Artist Workshops curriculum includes:

-Observation Painting including portraits and still-life
-Painting Plein-Air
-Printmaking Techniques
