Student Life

In the supportive community of PNCA, academic and student services are personalized. We welcome and support you as an incoming student from day one, empowering you with strategies for thriving as a student, as an artist or designer, and as a human. From New Student Oreintation continuing through Thesis, the Office of Student Life helps you meet the challenges of and get the most from your PNCA experience both inside and outside the classroom.

As a PNCA student, you’ll belong to an active community of artists with the opportunity to exhibit your work in numerous campus galleries, make pop-up shops to sell your work, and host opening receptions for your shows. You might study abroad, travel, or join one of many student-organized clubs funded by Student Council such as Outdoor Adventure, F.O.F.U.S (the ukelele club), Queer Union, POC Club, Volunteer Club, Broadcast Club, and Poetry Society. Yoga classes are held regularly, and you'll enjoy field trips to the coast, Flapjack Fridays, and spontaneous ping-pong games.

The Office of Student Life provides varied support to assist students in completing their degrees:

  • Orientation to PNCA and the Portland area
  • Residence Life Coordination
  • Off Campus Housing Assistance
  • Counseling and advising on student life concerns
  • Accommodations for students with special needs
  • Student Leadership Groups
  • Assist with Co-Curricular Services and Activities
  • Clubs and Student Organizations
  • Student Health Insurance

The Office of Student Life is located in PNCA's Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design and is open Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm
