Our alumni go on to launch their own businesses, go on to graduate school, and produce and release independent films and albums. During your four years here, you'll prepare for life after PNCA with many opportunities for exhibiting and screening your work and working with successful artists and entrepreneurs.
Ben Glas is an Interdisciplinary artist and composer who makes multimedia installations, sound and video work, and performance. He has released numerous recordings and publications and has performed and exhibited widely. Glas’s work focuses on egalitarian proprioception, meditative sound, stasis/rush within digital systems and notions of spacetime. Working extensively with sinewaves and unconventional softwares, Glas engages physical spaces to evoke in viewers a momentary sonic awareness in space and time.
Zoe Bullock ‘14
New York-based filmmaker and model Zoe Bullock recently released a new work, Two or Three Women and was one of five women artists interviewed on Opening Ceremony’s Discovery blog. Follow Zoe on Instagram.
Adam Simmons '17
Adam Simmons is a former military journalist and Getty Photographer who founded AirView Cinematography, a video production company specializing in aerial video and photography. Simmons is an AirView FAA certified commercial drone pilot who has been putting cameras in the sky for more than five years. AirView was recently awarded an exclusive contract as the exclusive aerial photo and video providers for TriMet.
Audio Visual Technician
Students have opportunities to teach workshops, make exhibitions, and show their work in screenings and on cable at this 35-year-old community-driven media arts center.
Video + Sound students have had work included at screenings at the Hollywood Theater, Holocene, Cinema Project, and Tiny Boathouse Cinema.
Winter Light Festival
Students made work for this annual city-wide festival of projections and installations of light, video, and animation. PNCA’s Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art & Design was an important venue for the Festival, presenting more than a dozen projects.
This annual series brings international artists to campus for an experimental electronic surround sound performance.
