The current Willamette Week, the Creators Issue, profiles MFA in Applied Craft + Design alumna Laura Allcorn in "Meet the 15 Artists, Designers and Builders Making Portland a Cooler, Crazier, and More Colorful Place to Live."
Allcorn is an artist, educator, and founder of the Institute For Comedic Inquiry, "an artist-led institute that studies humor and turns absurdities into eyebrow-raising public experiments" which she founded while in graduate school at PNCA. Since then her projects have been exhibited internationally.
NY Times reports that Blas' new graphic novel with Claudia Guirre will be among first published on new imprint highlighting works by LGBTQIA artists and writers.
